Concord Carlisle Fund Announces Officers and New Trustees for the 2018-2019 Year

The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle is pleased to announce that the 2018-19 Officers have been named. Rebecca (“Bee”) Loprete of Concord assumes the Chair of the Board of Trustees, Travis Minor of Acton will serve as Assistant Chair, Welles Hatch of Carlisle will continue as Treasurer, Al Powers of Carlisle will continue as Assistant Trustee, Elaine DiCicco of Concord will continue as Secretary and Lucy Miller of Concord will continue as Immediate Past Chair. This is a dynamic group showing consistent enthusiasm and leadership to The Scholarship Fund organization. In addition, The Scholarship Fund is very pleased to introduce two new Associate Trustees.
Danae Laura grew up in Concord and is an alumna of Concord-Carlisle High School (CCHS). Danae is a graduate of New York University. Passionate about wellness, Danae owned a marketing business in the natural food industry until 2015, and currently has a yoga business teaching at local hospitals and clients’ homes. As a member of the Concord Carlisle Human Rights Council in 2008, Danae launched a community-wide fundraising campaign called The Abby Fund to commemorate CCHS alumnus Abdirauf Abdullahi, bolster CCHS METCO graduates, and discuss race in Concord. The Abby Fund invested the amount raised as a Named Fund endowment with The Scholarship Fund in 2014 and produced the first award that same year. Danae continues her research as a graduate student at Lesley University.
Leah Levinger is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was a financial manager in the technology, real estate, consulting and hospitality industries. She previously served as a board officer for Milldam Nursery School and Concord Carlisle Friends of Football and has volunteered throughout the years at her sons’ schools and sports teams. Most recently she joined the cooking team at Open Table in Maynard. Leah has lived in Concord with her husband Jim since 1990 and has three sons who attended Concord Public Schools. Her oldest son is a 2011 graduate of Concord Academy and her other two sons graduated from CCHS in 2013 and 2018.
The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle looks forward to a productive and successful 2018-19 season with the creative energy these two new Associate Trustees bring to the current board.
