THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND APPLICATION DEADLINE

In the 54 years that The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle has been supporting the students who live or are educated in our two towns, there has never been a spring of greater uncertainty for them. While your high school senior is perhaps still trying to decide on which college to attend by making virtual tours and reaching out to alumni, this year, the challenge of financing higher education may be even more daunting for families whose incomes have suddenly been destabilized. The Scholarship Fund would like to remind all of our students and parents that we are here for you in these unsettled times.

Thanks to the generosity and support of our community, in 2019, scholarships totalling $274,690 went to 74 high school seniors and in-college students from The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle and from its Affiliates. (Each award is made for one academic year and students are encouraged to reapply for an award during each of their four years.)

If paying university fees is especially daunting for your family this year, now is the time to apply for need-based post-secondary scholarships. To be eligible for consideration, students must have financial need as documented with the FAFSA and must live in or attend a high school school located in Concord or Carlisle.

These are the “Six Easy Steps to Apply”:
1. Visit www.thescholarshipfundofcc.org
2. Download application
3. Submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
4. Request official school transcript be mailed to The Scholarship Fund
5. Submit application and a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) to The Scholarship Fund by May 1 for graduating high school seniors
6. Attend The Scholarship Fund Zoom interview in early May (graduating seniors only)

It is essential that these steps be followed closely. Every year some students delay requesting their official transcripts or submit the application too late for consideration.

For high school seniors with demonstrated financial need, if all three parts of the application (application, FAFSA, and official transcript) are complete and postmarked by the above deadline, the student will receive an email notification of their Zoom interview time.
