The 2013 CCSF Martinez Scholarship Awardees

The Adrian A. Martinez Memorial Scholarship Fund was established through the Concord Carlisle Scholarship Fund (CCSF) in 2006 by his family to honor the life of Adrian, CCHS ‘02. Adrian inspired all who knew him with his gentle and caring nature, love of learning, his mathematical prowess and his athleticism as a champion distance runner. This year as a result of the continuing outpouring of affection and generosity of Adrian’s family and friends, CCSF proudly announced three awards from the Martinez Memorial Scholarship to support CCHS graduates in their freshman year of college.

Christopher Lavely is an award-winning musician and composer, star athlete in tennis and squash, and honor student who will attend the College of William and Mary to study government and business.

Kevin He’s accomplished academic career at CCHS was balanced by extracurricular interests including running on the indoor and outdoor track teams, Model UN, Moot Court, founding the school’s Rubik’s Cube Club, and volunteering at the Chelmsford Chinese Language School. Kevin will attend Duke University to study economics.

Zoe Hochstein-Morran will attend Northeastern University in the fall to pursue environmental science incorporating elements of architecture and sustainable design.  While at CCHS Zoe was very active in the Environmental Club, playing viola in a Longy School of Music orchestra, and volunteering at the Concord Children’s Center.

The annual Adrian Martinez Classic, an evening of mile races for all ages and abilities, which benefits the Adrian A. Martinez Memorial Scholarship, will take place at 4 p.m. on July 6 at Emerson Field in Concord.  Register at  For more information on the Concord Carlisle Scholarship Fund visit
